About Me

Early Life
Although I grew up in Florida, some of my most cherished memories are of frequent visits to my family in Utah.  Even in my childhood, I was in awe of this state, with its majestic mountains and its hard-working and family-oriented people.  I moved to Utah immediately after my high school graduation in 1989, and I’ve made my home here ever since.

Family

I met my wife Ruth in Provo twenty-eight years ago. We were married shortly thereafter, and I became a conductor, brakeman, and switchman for the railroad to support our family. We raised our daughter Annika here in South Jordan. She graduated from Bingham High School, studied Political Communication at George Washington University, and graduated from Harvard Law School last year.

Community

Our family has called South Jordan home for sixteen years. From participating in South Jordan University to learn more about our city’s government, to serving as docents at the Gale Center to preserve and share its history with the next generation, to serving on the local scout committee, I strive to be an active, informed, and committed citizen. I love this community, and would be honored to represent you and your values in the state legislature.

Your Voice in the House

I’m Sam Boone, and I’m running to represent you in Utah House District 42.  This community has been my home for sixteen years.  I’m grateful to have raised my family in this area, with its kind neighbors, good schools, and family values. It would be an honor to represent you and ensure that our community has strong leadership to navigate the challenges ahead of us.
